Many window makers print a date on the metal spacer and warranty the seal. Snap a photo of it and add it to your quote. We'll tell you if a warranty claim is worth trying first.
Can you really replace just the glass?
Yes. The glass in a double pane window is one sealed unit. We pull the old one, set a new one built to the same size and thickness, and put the stops back. Your frame, trim and walls stay put.
Can't I just have it defogged?
Drilling and venting can clear the haze for a while, but the seal stays broken, so cost guides like Fixr call it cosmetic. A new sealed unit is the fix that lasts.
What if the whole window is shot?
Sometimes the frame is bent or rotted, or the lock has quit. If that's the case we'll tell you straight and quote a full replacement, so you still have options.
Will insurance cover broken glass?
